While Thor: Love and Thunder are leaning into romance, it is of course still a superhero movie, which means plenty of CGI-heavy action. In his interview, Haiti also discussed his excitement around using cutting-edge filmmaking technology. Building off of the technique he utilized to great effect in Ragnarok's Hela flashback battle, Vaititi used a new Satellite Lab technology called PlateLight for Love and Thunder. PlateLight uses high-speed lights and slow-motion footage to capture multiple lighting set-ups within a single shot."And then when you break down that footage into increments of 24 frames per second," Waititi told Wired, "you have every single kind of lighting, all individually captured. So later you can choose your lighting in post-production." He sounds very excited about this.

"I can't tell you that much," Portman told Fatherly in 2020 regarding Love and Thunder's story, ahead of filming."I'm excited. I'm starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I'm trying to think it's based on the graphic novel of the Mighty Thor. She's going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side."
It should be noted that in none of the references to Love and Thunder's love story does Vl aititi mention Jane or Thor specifically. The "full-blown love story" could certainly feature a different dynamic, perhaps one that includes Tessa Thompson's bisexual badass Valkyrie introduced to the NICU in Ragnarok. After more than a decade of half-hearted queer "representation" in the lv ICU, it would be welcome to see a queer love story at the heart of Love and Thunder.
Narratively, it 'A'Ould also be much easier to sell a fresh love story than trying to resuscitate Thor and Jane's bland romance.
Back in March 2020, Groot actor Vin Diesel teased that the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in Love and Thunder. Variety seemingly confirmed this, noting that Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt is headed to Australia to film scenes for the film. How big will his part be? Time will tell! And lastly, Tessa Thompson told ET Now that Christian Bale will play an undisclosed villain in the film. At the Disney shareholders meeting in December 2020, Kevin Feige confirmed that Bale will play Gorr the God Butcher. According to Deadline, Jaimie Alexander will return as Sif in the film. In January 2021, Karen Gillan—who plays Nebula in the MCU—confirmed that she will also appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. Deadline reported that Russell Crowe will cameo in the film. Matt Damon will also reprise his cameo from Thor: Ragnarok. On April 19, 2021, Crowe appeared on JOY 94.9’s JOY Breakfast and said he is playing Zeus in the film (which you can listen to in the above clip).
